Daniela was exhausted, and the host family had also waited for her since noon.
Daniela’s English is excellent. She majored in Economic Management and worked as an HR. She is
highly responsible and hardworking. She volunteered at a center for kids affected by HIV/AIDS, taking care of
kids 3 to 6 years old. This is one of the most important experiences of her life. She became more responsible
because of this experience, and realized that disease and mental trauma were the biggest obstacles in the w
-ay of human development.
The host family has an energetic and adorable 7-year-old daughter, Alice. At first she was too shy to
speak English, but with Daniela’s encouragement, she finally said “goodnight” to her one day. Daniela has her
own idea when it comes to teaching English. She believes that everyone has their own way of learning. Some
are visual learners, some need to learn through actions. Therefore Daniela has gotten to know Alice first, then
created the best plan for Alice.
Daniela has communicated with Alice only in English, which created a great learning environment. The
host family has welcomed Daniela like a member of the family, and done the best they can to help Daniela
learn about Chinese culture. Hope they have a wonderful time for the rest of their program!
