Nianli, is a kind of sacrifice ceremony with folk performance and invitation to friends to have a meal, the purpose

of Nianli is to sacrifice the god and the ancestor and pray everything will be all right and the whole nation will stay secure.

Nianli is the custom of Chinese people.After the Spring Festival,the annual activities in Zhanjiang will be organized

and spread throughout the towns and villages. Different from traditional festivals such as Spring Festival, it is a

unique cultural custom in western Guangdong.

15th March, the colleague of iCXC and 3 Au pair join this unique western Guangdong ceremony in stone village in Zhanjiang.

The villager invited Au pairs to eat.

The children were very enthusiastic, and they took pictures with them.

 

Although it has been a while since the Spring Festival. But when stepping into stone village, the festival feeling were

still full! The day was twenty-eight January in Chinese calendar . It is the annual feast of stone village in xia shan district!

The road is filled with stalls selling all kinds of drinks. From the entrance to the village, all the way was quite crowded.

When we arrived the village it's already 10 in the morning and all the family in the village are already cooking and

decorating the table and ready to host the friends and relative from the outside.

Many family has already set the table and ready to sacrifice the god.

For the beginning of the wandering god many performers squatted against the wall to eat to save time.

The Sun were quite strong that day, however they were quite happy although they were sweaty from inside to

outside for this annual activity.

The arrow show was always the most expected show ever, the whole team was ready to go and all the visitor can't

HEPA themselves to take pictures with their mobile phone.

And there’re also a session called “cable shaking”, people around the cable just clap the cable to call the sprite inside

the cable to pray the safety for the guy inside the cable.

After a series of firecracker and the team finally start, this year is the year of dog, so the man lead the team with a god dog.

Then is the “Piaose” session.

 

The little girl cried because she was afraid of heights.

The table with sacrifice were placed by the road and the show team will show this respect when they pass BT and

usually they will receive some red envelope~

 

 

Villager will hold their incense and wait for the show team and offer them some incense when they were near.

 

 

 

The villagers of the donation will appear in the team.

The appearance of the performers feel as if I have traveled to ancient times.

 

The horse without anyone to ride is the god horse, after that was the kid who riding the horse following behind and

those aren't some normal kid, they were pick after the selection.

The kids are really sharp.

And also the adult looked so sharp.

Then it's the arrow session that we were expecting!

 

After the arrival of the team some of the family has set the firecracker that last for few meters long. And then is the

sound of the firecracker following behind.

The ceremony was almost walk to the end with the sound of firecracker, but for the wish to the whole new year will

never end and will stay forever in people’s heart.
