Rodrigo 27 Mexico
Rodrigo comes from Guanajuato, Mexico, a city more like a European town left behind by god. But it is a thousand times more exciting and interesting than Europe. Animation ‘COCO’ is based on this city. The city of color has been named one of the world's top 10 travel destinations by Lonely Planet.
2020.1.16 Rodrigo and Ms. Sun
As a native Mexican, Rodrigo speaks fluent Spanish, as well as excellent English and French. Rodrigo has two hobbies, one is painting and the other is dancing. He exudes art from the inside out, and it is hard to imagine that he is not connected with art in the way he dresses.
Rodrigo is very good at drawing cartoon characters and designing clothes. About dancing, he has been participating in large and small dance competitions (Latin dances) since the age of 14 and has won many awards. His height of 180 also contributed to his great athletic talents (e.g., football, basketball, swimming and cycling)
Rodrigo enjoys being with children so much that he worked as a kindergarten teacher for three months, teaching English, geography, science and Mexican culture and traditions. And every summer, Rodrigo goes to a local summer camp to teach French. Rodrigo is also a dance teacher at the dance academy.
When he’s with kids, Rodrigo believes that painting is a good way to relax their minds. When drawing, children will project their ideas and fantasies, and then introduce and explain English to children in the form of pictures to improve children's interest in learning. After all, "interest" is always the best teacher for children.
Rodrigo having tea in host family
If you know Spanish, English, and Chinese, you will be able to communicate with two thirds of the people in the world (940 million people around the world use English, 550 million people use Spanish, use English, Chinese is the most widely used language in the world), it’s believed that learning Chinese is one of the main reasons. Rodrigo told us that he loves eating Chinese food. Although there is a lot of Chinese food in Mexico, it is not authentic in his opinion, so he really wants to be an Au pair in China.
The day of his arrival was also Rodrigo's birthday, host family celebrated for him. He was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected birthday cake. Rodrigo was Ms. Sun's fourth Au pair, and each one excelled in this program, they formed a transnational friendship. We wish Rodrigo a wonderful new life in Ms Sun's family and a role model for host kid!
