During the Spring Festival, it is a time for displaying of Chinese traditional paper cutting. Various forms of folk paper cutting would be shown, such as door god, Dou Fang, Tao Fu, door paper, window flower, hanging paper, wall flower, ceiling flower, appliance flower, gift flower, embroidery and so on. All are used by the people to clothes, food, living, travel, with, music, decorative environment, beautification of life, to express the desire to avoid evil fortune.

The origin of paper cutting


In the traditional festival folk paper-cutting, the common theme patterns are chicken, tiger, lion, deer, horse, ox, sheep, dog, rat, monkey, pig, dragon, phoenix, fish, swallow, magpie, crane, frog, pine, calabash, lotus, peony and so on. Some of them is shown alone, some is combat, all expressed a certain auspicious meaning, this is the pursuit of happiness, fortune, longevity, happiness.
