Meilin Landing on 7/9/2019

Meilin comes from Baja California, Mexico. Baja California has a pleasant climate and sunshine can be seen most of the year, which you can tell from Meilin’s perfect tanned skin. Meilin, who holds both American and Mexican citizenship, speaks English almost like a native speaker.

From the age of 4, Meilin’s starting to dance. After 14 years of dedication, she felt that dancing was one of the most important and valuable things in her life. In addition to dancing, Meilin enjoys gymnastics, jazz, cooking, chess, photography and lego. Swimming and cycling are two of her strength sports.

Meilin is a girl with one-eighth Chinese ancestry. Her grandmother is from China. Speaking of China, she showed a huge love and lots of interest of it. What Meilin wants to do is to connect this amazing country to Mexico and learn this amazing language, Chinese. Meilin also love to share her beautiful culture and language with her host family.

Both of Meilin’s parents are teachers, so Meilin has already known how to teachHer parents demanded strict discipline on her and asked her to be self-discipline since she was a little girl. As the eldest granddaughter in the family, Meilin often takes care of her little cousin when they are on vacation.

Meilin was landed at 12:00pm on 7th. Without having any rest in the afternoon, she went straight to the host family kids and started to knowing them. Meilin describes herself as a passionate, open-minded and patient person. She likes to try new things, get out of her comfort zone and learn about different cultures. This reciprocal program is both a challenge and an opportunity for her. Meilin says she can accomplish all these tasks and learn a lot by accomplishing them. Her love for children and enthusiasm for learning Chinese will be the driving force for her to complete the program.
