The common food in China was considered as the “dark cuisine” from foreigner, but they also have some “dark cuisine”, this time, we invite some au pair and the personnel of the agency to share their “dark cuisine”.

This challenge will be divided into 2 group and 1 versus 1, and let each other to taste the food from the opponent.

Here we go!

Firs round will be Cassie from the agency and Henrik from Sweden.

Firs Cassie will taste Licorice candy from Henrik.

What is Licorice candy?

It was made of liquorice, sometimes just simply called “Drop”, it offer salty and sweet favor, both of them aren't easy to be accepted, but the salty one is more challenging.

Zout Drop,or we could call it: salty licorice candy, it look from the dark dimension, but inside is even darker, the main ingredients are liquorice and ammonium chloride, the more ammonium chloride and the stronger the taste it will be.
It offer sweet favor and salty favor, both of them are challenging, but the salty one will test the limit of human being. “With licorice slices in your mouth, a subtle, bitter, salty, and sweet smell spreads through your tongue -- black licorice is probably several times stronger than this, plus the chewy texture, a whiff of urine straight up your nose.”, I saw someone eat Zout Drop before and just spit it out without any hesitation.

But Cassie just ate it without any hesitation

Here’s the complex face of Cassie and I have no doubt to the Zout Drop any more, it's bitter and salty when you first taste it, truly the food from dark dimension, and Henrik was the next!

To taste Stinky Toufu, first he smelled the “fantastic” smell of the Toufu then took a deep breath and sorrow it. Then, there's no afterward...

Can't even control the tear, that's the result of what happen if the life treat you, Henrik was saying it's too spicy for him, can't describe this complex feeling.

Our American au pair Deven was quite interest in this and wanna try,

then.......I guess that’s the look of regret.

Now the seconds round will be James and Jonathan from Germany.

James brought us durian cake, and Jonathan have to taste it, let's see what happen to him.

This fantastic smell, Jonathan also said “from 1 to 10，I will go to negative!”

Oh my~

Every moment after Jonathan tasting it could be used as a sticker, we have to say, suffer from durian then you could go through everything.

Now, it's time for James to taste the food from Jonathan,

the name of it is called: Pound cake, it's made by one pound of sugar, flour, egg, butter and some cherry or some nut, so we name it pound cake.

Add some cream before will taste better~

within 3 seconds after tasting it his face become so fierce and loosing his mind, is the cake so terrible? But the other au pairs were having fun with it. And I'm quite fine after tasting it, it seems the definition of terrible taste still depends on different kind of people.

OK~ After 2 round it seems like the “dark dimension food” did hurt a lot for each other, and it's obvious that different country have different taste in the diet habit and the favor~
